​Northern Hedgehogs (NHHC) began with a simple love for animals and a curiosity about one of the most unique small companions — the African pygmy hedgehog. What started as an interest quickly became a passion as we learned more about their personalities, intelligence, and the joy they bring into people’s homes. Our journey into hedgehogs began when we welcomed our first hedgehog into our family. We were immediately captivated by their gentle nature, quirky behaviors, and surprisingly affectionate personalities. From that moment, we knew we wanted to learn more about them and share that experience with others. As our knowledge grew, so did our commitment to responsible and ethical breeding. We spent years learning about proper care, genetics, temperament, and socialization. At NHHC, our goal has always been to raise hedgehogs that are healthy, well-socialized, and known for their exceptional temperaments. Today, Northern Hedgehogs is proud to be a Canadian breeder dedicated to quality, education, and responsible ownership. Our hedgehogs are raised in a loving home environment where they receive daily interaction and careful attention from the very beginning of their lives.
